Tanzania Visa Requirements

Most international visitors to Tanzania require a visa. Serac Adventure recommends applying for the Tanzania eVisa online before arrival — it is faster, more convenient, and avoids queues at the airport.

Tanzania eVisa

Apply online at: www.immigration.go.tz. Processing time: 2–5 business days. Cost: $50 (single entry for most nationalities) or $100 (USA citizens). Valid for 90 days from issue; single entry allows 90 days in Tanzania.

Visa on arrival

Available at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and Dar es Salaam International Airport for most nationalities. Cost: $50–$100 depending on nationality. Bring USD cash — card payment is not always available. Queues can be long during busy periods.

Visa exemptions

Citizens of some East African Community (EAC) member states may enter Tanzania without a visa. Check your country's specific requirements before travel.

Yellow fever certificate

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required if you are arriving from a country where yellow fever is endemic. Check current requirements with your travel health clinic.
