7-Day Machame Route - Kilimanjaro Climb

The 7-day Machame Route is Kilimanjaro's most popular trekking route — nicknamed the "Whiskey Route" for its demanding but rewarding character. Approaching from the south-west, Machame offers the finest scenery of any 7-day route, traversing rainforest, moorland, the Shira Plateau, and the dramatic Barranco Valley before the summit push.

The built-in Lava Tower acclimatisation day — ascending to 4,630m before sleeping at 3,976m — gives Machame a summit success rate of 82–87% on our 7-day programme. A camping-only route with circuit format: different ascent and descent trails.
