The 7-day Rongai Route is the only Kilimanjaro route that approaches from the north, near the Kenyan border. This gives Rongai a quieter, more remote character than the busier southern routes — you are unlikely to encounter other climbing groups on the ascent. The northern slopes are drier and more open, with distinctive scenery very different from Machame or Lemosho.
Rongai descends via the Marangu Route. The 7-day duration includes an acclimatisation rest day and delivers a summit success rate of 78–85%. An excellent choice for those seeking a less-travelled route experience.
